Mike Hixson

Mike Hixson has been a faithful gospel preacher for more than three decades and is widely known throughout the brotherhood for his preaching, television and radio work, and his commitment to evangelism. He currently serves as the pulpit minister for the Olive Branch Church of Christ in Olive Branch, Mississippi, a work he began in 2007 after preaching in the Memphis area since 1991.

He earned a bachelor’s degree, later completed a Master’s degree through Amridge University, and was named an honorary graduate of the Memphis School of Preaching in recognition of his service to the kingdom. In addition to local work, he has taught internationally through the International Academy of Biblical Studies and has previously served as an instructor for the Jamaica School of Preaching.

Brother Hixson is especially recognized for his extensive media ministry. He is the speaker for the weekly television and radio program Anchor of the Soul, hosts the live question-and-answer program GBN Live, and co-hosts Counterpoint with B.J. Clarke on the Gospel Broadcasting Network. Through these programs, his straightforward, Bible-centered teaching has reached audiences across the United States and around the world.

In recent interviews, Mike has shared his personal journey of being raised in the church, drifting away for a time, and ultimately being restored to faithful service. He often credits the influence of faithful gospel preachers, including Garland Elkins, for helping shape his preaching and ministry. His emphasis has consistently been on encouraging Christians to remain faithful, equipping congregations for future generations, and proclaiming the gospel with conviction and compassion.

He and his wife, Nancy, have been married since 1987 and have one son, Braden. Together they have devoted their lives to serving the Lord and strengthening congregations through preaching, teaching, media outreach, and personal evangelism.
